You might have heard that NBC is offering live streaming of Super Bowl XLIX on February 1st for free. As per report on Verge and CNN MONEY, NBC will allow viewers to watch 11 hours of Super Bowl live stream coverage online for free, including the game and halftime show.

The US viewers can download the NBC Sports Live Extra app for the iPad and iPod touch. Visiting the NFL website on the desktop will also initiate a live stream. 


The game will not be available for free on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.  Verizon has the mobile streaming rights to the game. Verizon and the NFL will instead offer a specialized app designed as a companion for seeing the game live. So you have buy subscription to enjoy NFL mobile live streaming. 

NBC live stream is limited only in the US.

The NBC live stream is not available outside of the US territories. Also due to blackout many other countries such as Australia, Canada and UK will not be able to view the NBC live stream.
